Is it ok to shampoo hair the day after dying it?

I'm dying my hair blue black permanently and I was wondering if it's going to affect anything if I shampoo it the day after? Will a lot of the color run out?

I dye my hair blue black and wash with shampoo that same day and my color lasts 2-3 months. I cannot stand having excess dye, my hair is oily enough 😂

It's fine. you need to buy a professional color safe shampoo and conditioner from a salon. I personally love matrix mega sleek (black and orange bottle) it's sulfate free and won't strip color, works on all hair types and seals the cuticle. also do not use clarifying shampoo it strips the color. there are so many really good shampoos and conditioner that are really go for color. if you go to a salon just ask for a color safe products and they will show you them all and recommend one.  ps. I am a cosmetologist 😊

The coloring process ends when you rinse the color out or approximately 45 minutes after mixing the color because the developer stops working at that point (45 minuets of oxidizing). Not washing your hair for 24 hours doesn’t change how long your hair will hold the color, what comes out in the first wash is going to be the same whether you wash your hair immediately or a day or two after coloring.  Just be sure to use a salon brand color safe shampoo and conditioner for longer lasting color.
