WHAT IS MY DUE DATE?!

Hi Nuture Fam - I’m in a pickle.. 
According to my last period my due date is 28th July, however according to my dating scan im due on the 3rd of August.
My doctor is going from the 28th of July. I’m just a little confused - what is my due date??

its what your doctor tells you. they go by your last period unless your dating scan is a week or more different.

With all three of my pregnancies they have gone off my last period and then confirmed that with the ultrasound. If the two are within a few days of each other they’ve keep the date of my last period. (Which yours are so close) I would go by what the doctor says… Otherwise they will have your chart as one day and you will be thinking in your head and telling people another day - and then what you except at appointments and all of that will be off.

Go by whatever your 12 week scan says. That’s how we do it here in England anyway, guess every where is different 🤷🏻‍♀️

So heres how my doctor explained it to me when they changed my due date from 8/1 to 8/8. The measurements were all at 7 weeks 1 day. They changed the due date to match the scans. However, baby could still just be a little extra curled up and I could be 8 weeks. In her opinion, for a mother its easier to go by the later date (either measurement or last missed) because so many moments are judged by how many weeks you are. You wouldn't want to go into an anatomy scan and not be far enough along to see. After she explained it, it makes total sense to me. babies rarely come on thier due date anyways

According to my scans my due date is 4-30 but Dr goes by my LMP of 5-5. If its just a few days theres not really a point in changing it because babies are rarely born when they are supposed to be!

I would think your doctor would go off your dating scan because that is the most accurate based on babies measurements. Very strange.
