Do you believe every couple needs some privacy?

My husband never leaves me alone. If I'm peeing, he sits outside the door and watches. When I'm doing my hair, brushing my teeth or anything, he sits on the toilet. If I'm reading, he says I'm ignoring him. I can't listen to music with headphones because he says that means I don't want to spend time with him. He follows me into every room in the house, even if I'm throwing something Into the trash. And no, I have never cheated or done him wrong. He is just very needy, clingy and dependent on me entirely too much. My only alone time is when I'm showering because I lock the door so that I can have some peace and time to myself. He says that isn't fair to him and no married couple should do so. But if that's the only way to get time alone, I will do so.
