pap appt., results pregnant..

I went to my first ob appt today, tons of questions. I can't wrap my head around this. I have been spotting for 3weeks and the ob doc tells me I may be in process of having a miscarriage. I also have sisters who had their first pregnancy with periods for the 1st 4-5mos til they were tested positive for pregnacy..trying to think n be positive, just makes me nervous. could this be possible?
