Possible STI?

I started getting these weird bumps on my thighs very near my vagina but not quite on it. These bumps are very itchy yet painful and the skin they're on has become quite dark and does not match the surrounding skin without those bumps. I started getting these around when I started becoming sexually active and they've progressively gotten worse, even as I haven't had any sexual activity for about two weeks now. I've never gotten rashes before so I honestly am not familiar with them so could this be just irritation of the skin or could it be a sign of a STI? Should I see a gynecologist about this just in case? Thank you!
