Teen Tax At Restaurants?
There's a diner in New Jersey that has implemented a 18% "teen tax" bc teenagers were showing up in very large groups eating there after school and staying for excessive periods of time hanging out 😬 but not tipping. Now, I do think it's obnoxious that teens do this and stay way longer than needed occupying tables from other paying customers. But Idk how I feel about targeting them bc then where do we draw the line? They should have just added a gratuity percentage to everyone's bill or just priced the meals higher and payed their servers a decent wage. Ideally parents would teach their children how tipping works, but we all know that doesn't happen. Anyway, a lot of parents have boycotted the diner bc they feel their kids are being taken advantage of, while some think this needs to be nationwide. What do you all think?
