Implanon

I’ve had the implanon rod in my arm for 2 years now and the side effects have been horrible I’m waiting until my 3 years are up before getting it taken out though as I don’t want to get pregnant I’m not sure what birth control to use after I get it taken out as I really can’t go through this for another 3 years, a couple of my friends have said about taking the pill over the top of the implant but I don’t know wether that is a good idea or not ? Please help any suggestions will be helpful
