Flu & Tdap shot?

My OB mentioned it to me at my last appointment and told me to think about it. I've never had the flu shot and I dont remember getting the Tdap shot during my last pregnancy but that was 5 years ago. I know she said something about the whooping cough. What are your opinions on it? Is it really necessary? I know baby will have her vaccinations when born.

I’d rather have a sore arm for a few days than a newborn with whooping cough. You’ve got to way up the risks of not getting it done against the minuscule change of a “serious” side effect (keeping in mind, whooping cough itself can be fatal, and a fever caused by the flu can also cause a lot of damage to baby.)
It’s routine in my country, and I heavily suggest getting both.

I also got both and our doctor recommended anyone who will be around him as a newborn to have both the TDAP and flu shots. We’ve discussed with both grandparents and siblings that if they want to be at the hospital or even in our home when he’s tiny they have to be vaccinated. Better safe than sorry 🤷🏻‍♀️

I didn't get the flu shot but I did get the Tdap which my doctor said helps the baby since they don't get those at first until a couple weeks old.

I didn’t get the flu shot but got the Tdap shot. No real point in getting the flu shot just gonna make me sick and miserable. And he won’t get the shot until he’s 2 months old. So by the time my little boy is born until he’s 2 months he will be fine and not get whooping cough.

I got both at the recommendation of my doctor. She said the flu shot is recommended but the tdap is HIGHLY HIGHLY recommended.. it can be life threatening for the baby and often the mom doesn’t even realize she has it and passes it to baby.

Tdap shot yes!(: flu shot... up to you but I got the flu shot and have gotten the flu twice throughout this pregnancy I feel like it's a load of crap -_-

I just got my tdap yesterday and got my flu shot awhile ago. My doc explained the tdap to me in a good way. She said that the antibodies my body makes from the shot go into baby’s blood stream so she will have them too. It will protect her until her immune system is able to create antibodies on her own. I thought that explained it well. :) Hope that helps.
