letting kids climb on the couch?

hey! do any of you let your kids climb on the couch? my son airways tries but we usually stop him. sometimes I'll let him if I'm on the other side or right by it. but he anyways tries to climb over the back of it! I have a friend who's daughter is a couple months older than my son and she always posts pics of her on the couch or entertainment center, like wtf? my son would definitely knock the tv over if he could get to it! maybe i just have a crazy child 😂 what about you guys?

my couch is against a wall so I don't really worry too much about that but if it's not furniture to sit on she can't climb it. She doesn't usually stand on the couch mostly just sits

our daughter was climbing couches and seats,  since before she was walking. here she is at 10 months,  right before she started walking at 10.5 months

She's climbing tables, toys, cars.  everything.  I let her, but I also watch her and am ready to catch if she's in danger of falling on something hard.

She was 8 months old in this one. she climbed on it herself. she was not even standing back then.  she climbs every couch, every bed, every toy and table that she can get at

My son climbs everything... there's no "let". I just help him learn how to be safe and get up and down things appropriately, so that when he is out of my sight I can feel confident he will be okay. We did switch his bed to a toddler bed though. He was going to be trying to get out of the crib and that made me too nervous. He also doesn't have access to stairs. He's kind of a nut. He stands on his tip toes and reaches above his head to feel around on counters for whatever he can reach.

If I'm right there I do. If I'm not in the room I don't (and she's usually just following me.) I try not to limit too much of what I let her do and don't do. I mean if it's obviously dangerous I put a stop to it. But I think it's all about letting them explore and try things.

I do! It is impossible to keep her off of them. As long as she can't get hurt, I don't mind. She doesn't climb the back of it or anything like that and both of my couches are against walls. She has been climbing up on them for several months now and *knock on wood* she hasn't fallen off yet. She is pretty "sure-footed" though, so it doesn't worry me much.

If I'm sat on the couch yes, otherwise no. He's still finding his feet and doesn't understand he needs to climb down. I don't want him learning the hard way and falling off and landing on the laminate.
