Bumbo?

I want to get a Bumbo seat for my 4 month old but I read some bad reviews. what is your experience? is it worth it? TIA

I don’t see the point. They’ll learn to sit up on their own soon enough and until then, lying on the floor or tummy time is much more useful

I work with pediatric physical therapist and they don't recommend using the Bumbo, it's better to let them develop the muscles and strength needed to sit independently

i honestly think it's a waste of money. My son disliked it and then grew out of it at 6 months

They aren’t good for their spine and hips because you are making them sit in a way they developmentally aren’t ready for yet. Personally wouldn’t waste my money on it. Until they are ready to sit up by themselves or in a high chair they are little enough to be held or sit on laps.

I wouldn't waste money on it and didn't want one but my mil oversteps and bought one. my son used it 3xs his thighs were too chunky. they'll learn to sit just fine without it.

My opinion.... it’s all about supervision and time management. I never had a bumbo bc my son’s legs were chunky and we went with the sit me up. I found it more supportive for his back. Around 4 months is when my son started sitting on his own. 
We also liked the mamas and papas activity floor seat. I found it to be roomier and more engaging than the bumbo as well.
With all his toys and mats and such, we never left him in his chairs for more than 10-15minutes at a time. We liked more “free play” such as Tummy time and sitting on his own assisted by mommy or daddy.

I used to teach daycare, we threw them all out because a kid got stuck.  He was huge but it was enough for me to never use them again

We had one as a hand-me-down from my sister, but I hated it. My son is a skinny guy, but even at 2 months I had trouble getting him in and out of the seat because his legs/knees would get stuck. We have the Fisher Price sit me up chair and it’s a million times better, plus it folds for easy storage/travel!
