Folic acid pills for conception ?

I have had 11 chemical pregnancies in 18 months and now GP has told me to start folic acid pills to aide in conception for 2 months if it doesn’t help we will rely more invasive tests... 
Does folic acid help conception? Or prevent chemical pregnancies? 
Would love personal experiences.

every woman who is trying to conceive should take folic acid until the is 3 months pregnant. Unless told otherwise by your doctor.

It is probably the most crucial nutrient for a baby's devlopment from the day of conception. You should take it if TTC.

It helps with spinal development.. so I guess potentially miscarriages may occur when things happen with spinal development?! Not sure though.

Should have stated I work really hard with my diet and have made sure over the years I intake plenty of folate daily... and I have 2 kids. This is a whole new issue whatever it is since having my 2nd. 
Is it possible to get fertility issues after altready having kids? I’m only 27.
