Getting Gardasil HPV Vaccination? Experiences, side effects???

Hi, I’m a 24 year old female and I’m kind of late on getting the HPV vaccination because I just never knew much about it and I didn’t really have any older females to talk to about getting it. BUT Ive heard of some scary stories about severe side effects. I know it’s important to get the vaccination done (yes I am sexually active just recently) but I’d like to know what were y’alls experiences and if you had any side effects....thanks girls! ❤️

I had gotten my gardasil shots late too! Got them when I was 21 (now 25). Had all three done within the allotted time and did not experience any side effects

I had the series of three shots when I was in high school I think. The only side effect was a swollen arm and slightly sore arm for the rest of the day. I’m really glad I got it.

I’d do some googling if I were you, one of the main scientists who developed it said the whole thing was a crock and until her non disclosure agreement ended she couldn’t come out and say that. It finally ended last year and she wrote a whole book about the terrible side effects that people had and how it’s not worth it (AND HOW SHE WONT EVEN GET IT FOR HERSELF OR HER DAUGHTER) because they have PROVEN it can’t actually prevent anything. Now, the FDA has been trying to pull it from the market but they’re lacking physical evidence so they haven’t.

I was late to the game as well. My primary growing up told me he thought the side effects were too risky. So I’ve always denied it. Last year my new gynecologist talked me into it. I hesitated but she convinced me the benefits outweigh the risks. 
A few months later at my pap I tested positive for HPV and had abnormal cells. I never had that before and have been getting checked yearly with no issues. I know HPV can lay dormant for years but it just seemed too much of a coincidence to me. 
Then my abnormal cells progressed very quickly and almost turned into cervical cancer. Luckily we got it all removed but she said it was very aggressive. 
Just do your research and be confident in your decision. I regretted getting it since my previous doctor warned me and I refused for so many years and right after I finally give in - I get the worst. I will always question what if. If I refused - would I have gotten HPV and CIN III cells? Would I have needed a hysteroscopy and LEEP? I’ll never know..

I had the entire series when I was 13 I believe and I am now 26, had a conization procedure in October last year and now can’t get pregnant 😕😕😕

I wish it had been offered to me when growing up but I guess it wasn’t widely distributed yet. I didn’t even know about the vaccine until I was 22 and had abnormal PAP results due to HPV which I never knew I had until that point. Had to have a biopsy then cryotherapy to have abnormal tissue removed. Now I’m always fearful that my husband could acquire cancer of the throat if he got HPV from oral sex with me which is unlikely because it’s probably out of my system by now, but it’s still a fear I have. My point is that I would get it if I were you and was still planning on having multiple sex partners in the future. I contracted HPV from one of the few men I slept with in my early 20s.

i got them when i was 13. i had seizures 15 mins after each one and now its been a year later and its left me with a sore arm and extreme ptsd and anxiety, alot of other health issues such as chronic fatigue syndrome. i was also tested for a brain tumor and epilepsy. dont get it

My entire life I was very very careful regarding protection as I always saw babes in my future. I conceived once and aborted. It was particularly negative and abusive situation I was in. Anyway shortly after that I got the shots. I have now been trying to get pregnant for FIVE YEARS my gynecologist once mentioned he hates how many people he sees with similar issues. People GET precancerous cells no family history, stop ovulation in their 20s and all sorts of nasty things my sister and I both got them in 2010/2011 and NEITHER of us can carry past 8 weeks, she’s going for surgery to remove her precancerous cells Friday next and Ive only conceived once since and just with her at 8 weeks it became a missed-miscarriage-it was particularly unpleasant and heart wrenching to experience all of this. Did you know president Clinton apologized for the country for giving a ton of people disease (mostly blacks) nice right? Through the POLIO VACCINE. I’m pretty sure based upon the data’s I’ve collected so far this has something to do with genetics and the formula of the set.
