Do you believe in jinxing yourself

Question

Do you believe if you buy clothes for a baby that hasn’t been conceived yet will jinx you and you you won’t get pregnant. Or if someone says it your pregnant before you know will jinx it.

Answer

I don't think I felt like it would jinx it. But I do remember being fearful. I remember a couple that was friends with my parents when I was very young. They were not able to conceive and for some reason that really stuck with me. I had also seen some movies in my life where the couple wasn't able to conceive and had a nursery all set up. In those movies the nursery was a sad place for them because they didn't have a baby to put in there. This scenario stuck with me through the years. So when my hubby and I decided to try I was too afraid to buy anything baby related and definitely too afraid to set up a whole nursery. I knew that having the stuff wouldn't make me not get pregnant but I didn't want us to be the couple who couldn't conceive and had this room of sadness. If we weren't able to conceive I didn't want to have a constant reminder.

Answer

I bought baby clothes and maternity clothes while ttc with my first. got pregnant on cycle 10 and very glad I had made my purchases.
