My fiancé and I can’t see eye to eye on our wedding. For starters I’m very against how weddings as a whole have become more about appeasing the family and guests, as well as ridiculously expensive. With that being said, I’m all for just going to the courthouse and having something very simple. But my fiancé wants to get married in a horribly expensive Catholic Church, and also wants some kind of extravagant reception. He won’t even meet me halfway on having something simple at our home for the reception( we’re only having 50 guests tops). He also knows I don’t have a lot of money for a wedding and my parents can’t help. I also feel that this wedding has very little in it for me because I don’t really have friends and very little family I’m close too. Both sides of my family are incredibly dysfunctional. So the 50 guests are mainly his friends and family. I feel like this wedding does nothing but shine a light on how dysfunctional my family is, and also that I have no friends. Very depressing. I love my fiancé and want to be married but I don’t want all the fluff, being a guy I’m so surprised he has so many standards! You’d think the man would be happy his woman is no bridezilla and wants to be minimalist. How do you ladies feel and what are your thoughts. I’ve been very stressed and depressed about this 😓 our wedding is this March as well. Thanks in advance everyone.
