Have you had the flu yet this season? & did you have the flu shot?

The flu is running rampant in the US, UK and probably plenty of other countries. Have you had it yet? Currently bedridden with it, anyone have any suggestions or remedies ?

I heard the shot is only 10% effective this year. I didn’t get it but I think I’m starting to come down with someone 😒 hopefully not the flu

After speaking with two of my friends that are nurses, and a friend that's a pharmacist, I decided that we will no longer do flu shots. They both said they don't have their kids get them for a couple reasons. They said they wouldn’t get the shot themselves if they didn’t have to for work. While it is impossible to get the flu directly from the shot, because it's not a live strain of the virus, many people don't realize that the flu shot has been proven to weaken your immune system for about 2 weeks following inoculation. This is why so many people get sick soon after getting the shot, and assume that the shot directly made them sick. The flu shot has also been proven to be less than 50% effective as its created nearly a year prior to flu season, and the strains that it protects against are an educated guess as to whether or not they will actually be the most common strains of that season. The shot often doesn't cover many of the strains going around. Don't get me wrong, I am definitely pro vaccinations. The flu shot is the only shot my family no longer receives. None of us have gotten the shot or the flu, and we all go out and are in activities everyday.

I am a RN, and I always refuse the flu shot. I do not want to put chemicals into my body, especially now that I am pregnant. Especially since the flu shot is only about 10% effective. I will take my chances, wear a mask around patients and always wash my hands.
