I think it is fine as long as sex is not involved until you are 18. You never know the future, and there could be a lot of problems if anyone finds out y'all are having sex (If you are).

Noo that’s not weird. You do you! I’m 16 and I’ve been with a guy that is 22. As long as you feel safe. I don’t know the laws in your country, but I come from Sweden where we are “allowed” to have sex from the age of 15, so for me it wasn’t “illegal”. But I know a lot of teenagers that was underaged when they first started to have sex, and not a single one has been arrested or anything like that.

Honestly, age won’t matter once you two are above 18.
Once he turns 18, you’ll turn 16 sooner or later. It won’t really matter as long as you two don’t get into trouble (sexting, etc)
