Twins discovered later in pregnancy?

Did anyone have a twin missed in an early ultrasound but discovered later...like after 12 weeks?

It’s not common but it does happen. Some people don’t find out till birth.

I have a friend that didn’t find out she was having twins until her anatomy ultrasound, and it was until they flipped to 3D and moved just right and boom, another baby.

I would think it would be extremely unlikely bc at the early scan  (7-10wks) they would pick up the # of sacks and heartbeats

With these new fancy machines I don’t see that happening. An older machine I kinda do cause it’s so grainy but you never know some techs are LAZY.

A friend of mine did. She was returning from holidays abroad and went for a routine scan, she was 7 months pregnant and during the scan the sonographer saw the second baby hiding behind the first. She was a smaller baby and the position she was in had never allowed to pick up a second heartbeat until then.
