My love has no ambition and doesn’t want to go any farther than just dating or to succeed in life. My crush (I know I shouldn’t have one but I do and still love someone else) has ambition and wants the same things I want and he is going to pursue his dreams.

🤷🏻‍♀️ I think ambition, like another commented said, is attractive. My boyfriend has a good job and is taking the steps to better his income. But he's not ambitious. He's just doing it because that's what he knows. He said he doesn't want to do it forever and when he's tired of it he wants a 9-5 working in a government position (not saying the job he wants). I still love him and want him to succeed but if that's what he wants, that's what he wants. I can take care of myself, as long as he pays his share of the bills and doesn't ask me for stupid things (like something expensive) I don't give a crap what he does. I'm ambitious enough to entertain myself. If he's happy, I'm happy. 
I think you need to take a step back and think about if this is a deal breaker or not. If it is, don't be ashamed and work on moving on. If you can live with it, just be there for him, love him, and maybe he'll grow out of it. If not, not everyone is going to have a go getter attitude and you have to accept him for who he is.

Ambition is definitely attractive. But like you my boyfriend doesn't have much. Or at least he says he wants to do better and get a better job etc but never actually does anything towards it. But I do love him. And I'm not all that either. I'd love for him to be more ambitious but I won't hold it against him. Unless maybe in 10 years time if he's still in the same place earning the same as I kinda hope he will be more providing if we ever get to having kids. 💁
