My little one is nearly 2 weeks old and I’ve been EBF. She is putting on weight really well and feeds regularly. Sorry in advance for all the questions!

From the outside my latch looks ok, wide mouth, lip curled out etc but when one of my nipple comes out its pinched at the end which indicates it’s not right inside the mouth. I’ve tried to move my nipple further to the back of her mouth but it doesn’t seem to make a difference. The latch hurts for the first 10 seconds but after that doesn’t hurt. I’ve also tried different positions. Does anyone have any ideas to improve the latch? Going to a drop in at the hospital but it’s not for another 5 days.

The last 2 days baby has been feeding for longer. She’s gone from 30 mins to 50 mins. Some of this seems like little sucks and I wondered whether she’s using my nipple as a comforter? Also sometimes she starts making noises when getting towards mid-end of the feed and starts moving around and bringing her hands up to her face and my boob, is this normal?

I’ve bought a breast pump to start to stash a small amount of milk away if needed. When is best to pump as don’t want to mess up my milk supply?
