I’m getting an IUD tomorrow!! What should I know?

What should I know before walking into this appointment? Like what will the days after I get it done look like? I’m really scared to do it.

Definitely take Ibuprofen 30 minutes before your appointment, and if you've never had a baby, expect some bad cramping/ lower abdominal pain over the next few days. Along with some implantation bleeding, other than that, nothing too crazy!

Take ibueprofin before you go into your appointment. It wasn't as bad as I thought. Just a little bit of cramps and bleeding. That's all.

How do you not know? your doctor should have talked to you about this. you can go to the website of the individual iud you are getting and it explains it there too

Make sure you get a follow up ultrasound... mine did not implant correctly and thankfully my doctor does f/u ultrasound to assure it’s in place. If she didn’t, I wouldn’t have known and obliviously could have gotten pregnant.
