FTM? Questions on buying a stroller/car seat?

Alright ladies, FTM here, and so overwhelmed with decisions! Haha. I am looking for an infant travel system preferably something jogger? Any suggestions would be helpful! Also, would you suggest getting another car seat for my husbands vehicle as well, TIA!

Travel system strollers aren’t the best in my opinion. Spend be money on a good, well made stroller because you will use it for years compared to just a few months of an infant seat. My fav combo is the Chicco KeyFit 30 infant seat and city mini gt stroller. Besides the basket being a little small on the stroller, I don’t have one negative thing to say about it. I went through three strollers I didn’t like and this was my fourth. Love it!

We’re just buying an extra base for my husbands car, as well as my parents as they will be watching our baby once I go back to work.. was cheaper than everyone buying a complete set!

We bought an Evenflo Embrace car seat, have three bases (my car, hubs car, sitter). I adore the seat and it’s not crazy expensive. The J is for Jeep jogger is compatible with it and that’s what we use. It’s heavy but very good out on trails and goes really smooth in stores. The bottom pic is the only one I have of the stroller so ignore the books. It became my shopping cart at a local used book store 🙈

You should check out the Stokke strollers, they are so easy to maneuver. You can also hook up your carseat to the stroller. I bought the NUNA pipa carseat for it.

I got my travel system from Walmart. It’s an Evenflo stroller and it came with a car seat and base. $250

We didn’t look at the travel systems because we found most weren’t made very well or one part had bad reviews while 5he other had amazing reviews. Plus buying them separate and choosing ones that can go together wound up being cheaper for us. Plus we got exactly what we wanted! I would look into the stroller that you want then see what car seats are compatible.

I really love my baby trend jogger, it Maneuvers very nicely and it’s easy to push. I’ve had a couple other ones but that one is by far my favorite.

My jogging friend bought a Thule stroller and she loves it. You can buy a car seat adapter for it to fit the car seat of your choice. My mom has a Baby Jogger City Mini for my sister’s youngest and my son when we visit, and it’s a great stroller as well. My mom doesn’t jog, but they go on rough terrain on the paths around their home in the country, plus I’ve seen plenty of joggers on our normal path who use the City Mini or City Select. There are a million different good infant seats available, but I love the Nuna Pipa because it’s so lightweight. As far as buying a second car seat for your husband’s car, that really depends on your situation. We never use my husband’s car when we take the baby anywhere because it’s smaller than our family car, but if we did I would just buy a second car seat base for our infant seat. Plus, my husband drives a lot more than me, which puts him at a higher risk for an accident and we really don’t want to have to replace a whole car seat if he gets in a fender bender on his way to work.

If budget isn't tight and you might want a second baby, I'd go with the city select. It converts to a double stroller so you can use it as either. It's a jogger. I went with a less expensive system and then just had to buy a whole new system once I got pregnant again.

I don't know about any joggers but we just got one car seat and a second base for DH car
