38 weeks and feeling baby move all the time?

I know movement is supposed to decrease a little by 38 weeks due to lack of room, but has anyone not had his happen? My little guy moves up a storm to where sometimes it feels like gun shots being fired in my stomach lol. Do you think he's not in the right position? My doctor said as far as he can tell he seems to be in the right position.

Movement should NOT decrease, movements will change as they run out of space but you should feel your baby as much as before up until delivery, the movements will just be more subtle like a nudge of a foot rather than a great big kick like they were when they were swimming around in there. I've been to L&D; multiple times for what I thought are reduced movements to be told that it's misleading to tell women they decrease from 36 weeks onwards as this has prevented women going to check on their baby when the movements actually have reduced as they just think it's normal. It's normal they're getting big and running out of room but if you think about it technically you should be feeling them the same if not more as they're so big most of their movements can be felt where as earlier on around 28 weeks they had far more room to tumble around you could miss them early. Now in the past few days (37+5 weeks) I've felt my baby much more as he's gotten bigger because his foot is in my ribs and that's pretty hard to miss with his size!
