How many days after your period can you take a test?

I keep reading that you should take the test a week after your missed period. is that a week after the last day you would have had it, if you had gotten it? I just went off BC in October and my period has been a steady Monday to Saturday for the last two months but I didn't get it Monday like I usually do and now it's Thursday and still nothing....wondering if I should take a test anyways?!

im the same way! im still getting BFN when i test every morning but i keep getting told to wait till a week after the first day of missed period.

The top was day before missed period and bottom was day of missed period! Confirmed with a blood test yesterday!

It's usually pretty accurate the day of a missed period so I would definitely test now :)
