Five Month Old Fever UPDATE

My daughter is just shy of six months old. Last night she woke up with a fever at 101.8 and it’s been almost 24 hours and she still is having trouble with fever and has a very decreased appetite (her father just got over some sort of illness—don’t want to say the flu because it only lasted a few days). I’ve given her small doses of infant Tylenol and it brings her fever down to 99.5 on average, but hasn’t gotten much lower than that. When the Tylenol gets close to wearing off it spikes up like that again.

I guess my question is how high of a fever on a 5 month old do you start to worry? Or how long should it last before you start to worry?

UPDATE: my daughter’s fever has gone down and has hung around 99-100 on average at the highest, and she threw up over night, but this morning she ate like she had a lot of catching up to do, but is still grumpy and all she wants to do is sleep. The pediatricians office opens in 45 minutes and I’m going to call right away when they do. Unfortunately they don’t have a nurse’s line :(
