Is this normal?

Sorry for the gross picture. I had the Mirena IUD inserted yesterday morning. I know it's normal to have spotting, but this looks like a lot to me? I've been bleeding like this since last night. Does it seem normal or should I be worried? I also just ended my period too, so I'm not on it. Just looking for some advice, thanks!

Yes, I had period-like bleeding for about 2 weeks after mine was put in followed by about another 6 weeks of spotting.

I didn't do the IUD but was on the depo shot for about 6 months before. I had some bleeding for about a month and it went away. Hormones in pills, injections, implants or even the patch can cause abnormal bleeding. If it's your first time using birth control, give it some time to see if it works for you.
