Cry It Out Method when baby can stand in crib?

My baby is about 9 months old and has learned to stand in the crib when he wakes up. Sometimes it’s 9-15 minutes of crying but he’ll eventually go back to sleep. What do other parents doing Cry It Out do at this age?

This was such a huge issue for me. We didn’t start sleep training until after he could pull himself up. He’d jump around and complain and cry and eventually bump his head, and then he’d cry for real, so I’d have to go calm him, which would mess up the whole sleep training plan 🤦🏻‍♀️ I had enough, so I took the 5,000 receiving blankets we had gotten at the shower and tied them all around the bars of the crib on top so it was soft and plush and he couldn’t get hurt. Then he figured out I wasn’t coming back and put himself back to sleep.

Standing up is not an issue at all, he will still go to sleep, and sounds like he does. I'd start worrying when he starts climbing out! 😀

We did a modified with our LO when she was much younger. All you need to worry about is stubbornness
