Doctors dates and my dates are different?

So.. I went to see my doctor last Sunday, and she said I was 4.5 weeks pregnant ... she done it from my last period? Being the 8th December .. But we actually done the deed on the 22nd December? So I work out I'm atleast 3 weeks, is this right??

you go by your last period, not the date  you had sex.

Yes it’s measured by the date of your last period not when you had sex because technically you wouldn’t be pregnant straight away after having sex.

Wait until your dating scan for the most accurate due date. I have an irregular cycle so I always went by the day I had sex, which was also ovulation day (got pregnant on 1 shot!). My ob went by my LMP until my dating scan at 7w6d, but then switched to the day I had sex because it was most accurate.
