How to jump start labor??

so I am 37+4 weeks i went to doctors on Thursday and was told I'm not dilated and cervix is still closed. I am so uncomfortable I can't sit still and I can't sleep. what are ways that I can jump start the process here??

You’re only 37+4 you don’t want to do anything if there was something you could do. Your baby’s lungs are still developing.

Nothing you can do sorry. if baby doesn't want to come then baby wont come yet. And if baby isn't ready to come then it means they haven't finished cooking yet. most babies are perfectly healthy at 38 weeks but the last few weeks are still very important. A baby can still not be ready for another 4 weeks yet, it is very uncomfortable but we've all been there and understand it won't be much longer.

Babies come on their own time line. Even the things that people have said work, I wouldn’t start trying yet. 37 weeks is still a little early and baby needs to develop a little more.

Evening primrose oil 1000mg. I'll be 38 weeks Monday and I take 1 in the morning, 1 in the afternoon and 2 at night orally. It's supposed to help soften the cervix but it doesn't induce labor. Baby will come when he/she wants to come. And I use a yoga ball daily. But baby is considered fully developed at 39-40 weeks just so you know. You are considered full term at 37 weeks but like other people said, the babies lungs are still developing and the brain is still growing.

you can do damage to yourself and baby by trying to have baby too early.  let mother nature do what she needs to do.  i know its uncomfortable and painful and downright miserable, i've been there before and am only 5 weeks behind you in pregnancy right now.  but let baby develop as much as possible before you squeeze him/her out.  its whats best.

Im 38 weeks pregnant and I've tried everything the past week (with approval from doc) walking, stairs, tons of water,  bouncing on exercise ball, sex, using Brest pump....I've been at 2cm for the longest time.... unfortunately as ready as I am, despite my sciatica and pregnancy induced carpal tunnel in both hands, my little man just simply isn't 😔

Sex worked for me but obviously it only works if baby is ready. I had sex and went into labour the next evening! Also try going on a walk up hill is good or power walking! Good luck!
