Would you let a stranger holds your baby?

So I was reading an article about a mother who lost her baby 35 years ago. She was at the bus station, and a woman came up to sit next to her, asking her questions about her 3 1/2 months old baby, striking conversation. At one point the woman asked to hold the baby, the mother hand the baby to the stranger. A few minutes after the stranger claimed the baby needed a diaper change, and asked the mother if she could go and change her in the bathroom, to which the mother reply ‘well yes I guess’. So the stranger lady took the baby and the diaper bag and the bathroom, and the mother never saw her baby again!

Now, I’m not a mother yet but I know how crucial it is to not let people you do not know to physically interact with your child. The world is full of evil people! Letting a stranger hold your baby shouldn’t even be an option! What’s your opinion on this?
