My Birth Story. ❣️Twin Girls.
; Before my last admit date on 01/12/2018 I was admitted into the hospital previously 2 times starting at 29 weeks due to preterm labor. Each time I was in the hospital for a week and a half. I was on magnesium sulfate and given steroid shots and shots to stop preterm labor. Now here it is, January 12th (33weeks6days) pregnant and I was having contractions every 2 minutes. I got to the hospital about 7am, I got hooked up to the monitors and checked and I was 3cm dilated. They of course started me back on magnesium sulfate and gave me another steroid shot (my 5th dose). They admitted me right then and there. My contractions had stopped and became irregular with no cervical change so I knew I was going home the next morning (01/13/2018). Well during the night at about 1am after my fiancé and my mom had left the hospital I started getting all emotional and crying because I had been up for almost 32 hours and haven’t eaten solid food in 26 hours so I was just so exhausted and hungry and ready to sign myself out of the hospital but my nurse and the resident doctor talked to me for over 35 minutes encouraging me to stay at least until the 24 magnesium was done and I had my 2nd dose of steroid shot, I agreed. They gave me Morphine for pain and I was finally able to fall asleep. At about 4:00am the nurse came in and started fiddling with the monitors because Baby “B” heart rate wasn’t fluctuating. And next thing you know I had a bed side sonogram to check on the babies and even on sonogram Baby “B” heart rate wouldn’t go past 100bpm and she wouldn’t move so decrease movement. After my sonogram was done maybe 2 minutes after she had left the nurse came in and said “you might have to deliver your girls this morning, we’re just waiting on your doctor to get here”. So here it is at 4:30am terrible snow storm going on and I’m calling my fiancé telling him to get here because I might have to deliver the girls. 4:40am the nurse comes back in and says alright I now have to prep you for an emergency c-section, so she put in my catheter had me sign concent papers and of course my fiancé wasn’t there yet to be with me. They brought me in the OR room and I got my spinal in and I was ready to go for surgery. I was by myself, besides the staff doing my c-section and nurses for the babies. My daughters were born at 5:09am and I couldn’t help myself but cry to the sounds of their beautiful cries and my nurse kept telling me how beautiful they were and I was just so anxious to see them. My fiancé finally showed up and they let him come in the OR with me. He was able to hold them for a couple minutes before they brought the girls to special care. The girls are on room air and doing great. I couldn’t believe that I actually did it by myself and went through with one of my biggest fears for child birth and that’s a c-section.
