I’m 5 weeks pregnant but he wants me to get an abortion, advice?

So I’m currently 5 weeks pregnant and we only found out 2 days ago. 
He is the absolute love of my life and we’ve been together for 8 years. I’m 22 and he’s 25.
He said he isn’t ready to become a father and wants to sort his career out before we have children.
He has asked me to think about getting an abortion and then trying for a baby next year but I don’t know what to do. I don’t think I could live with myself if I got an abortion and I don’t want to resent him for it if I go ahead with doing it.
I’ve always wanted children and I don’t want to lose him over this. 
I have no one to talk to and need some advice!

Why wait and try again next year? Surely not that much will have changed career wise for him? I appreciate that not everyone will think the same as me but if he wasn’t ready, you could have used protection. You might not get another chance to be a mother, some women would jump at the chance. If you get an abortion you’ll have to live with that the rest of your life and most likely regret it.. they’re so many other options than abortion! Do what you want to do..don’t do it because your man wants you to..

I suggest getting a referral to a counselor as they won’t have a personal connection to you (ie won’t have a vested interest like family, friends, and especially your partner) and won’t tell you what to do. They will be able to help you figure out and decide what option you want to take.

Hun, it is ultimately up to you. It's your body. Explain to him how you are feeling and that you are nervous/scared to lose him. If you have been together for 8 years, hopefully he will be supportive and understanding of you. Life can continue on with a babe, it just takes a little longer to get there. If you don't want an abortion, you may regret your decision to have one forever and/or end up resenting your s/o. Also, life will change once you have a child for sure and it will be different and hard but it will probably also be awesome and exciting too. An abortion will also change your life, but it may be dark and gloomy instead of just different. I've been faced with a similar decision before and I can't tell you what to do, but I hope you listen to your heart. It's not an easy one to make. It boils down to two questions. Do you want to have a child in 9 months? Are you able to support a child at this time? Go ahead and assume you’re doing it by yourself. I don’t say that because I think the relationship will end. I say that because children are forever and life is unpredictable. 
If the answers to those questions are yes and yes, then great, have a kid. If either of the answers is no, then maybe now isn’t the time. Only you know your situation. No one can force you to end a pregnancy. There is no shame in ending a pregnancy that you’re not ready for. It’s a perfectly valid reason.
