Ex fling and his "new girl"

I was going out with this boy let's call him Christmas tree but we weren't dating yet, after hanging with him at his house and cuddling,kissing, everything above the belt cause I'm not ready for anything yet, but after I got back to my friends house around 6 20 am we both passed out and I didn't wake up till 1 30 to a FaceTime call with my friends ex flame saying that Christmas trees ex girlfriend texted him like right after we left his house (we were with Christmas tree and her ex flame but not near eachother when stuff happened) but I was literally sick to my stomach so I texted him and asked him what was going on and he was like I have to choose between you or her AND I'M ON GOD NOT 2ND CHOICE but I was like okay it's your decision in the end he chose her and then on new years I texted him from my mom's wedding cause I just wanted to talk and it turned out to be a huge argument between him and I that lasted the next day and then a couple days later his girls friend texted me asking what I did with Christmas tree and I told the truth cause I don't lie 🤷🏻🤷🏻 and then a week later His gf followed me on IG and dm'd me and was just asking for my side to what happened even though it was none of her buisness I told her then I GOT A TEXT FROM HIM saying that he was sorry and crap and that he thanks me for telling her the truth ODD but I was like yeah mhm and then he got rude again but I played nice cause I was not gonna fight with Christmas tree, but honestly if he dumped her rn and texted me I don't know what I would do cause I liked him a lot, I don't want to go back to someone that did me dirty, but it's hard cause he made me really happy.
