Anyone else feel this way?

So I'm about to be a FTM, and I am SO excited! But my husband loves to laugh at me because as this last month gets closer, I can't wrap my head around the reality that I am going to have a baby! I am going to push a child. Out of my body. In 4 weeks (or less) I am going to have a tiny little baby. A little human being that I am responsible for! It's driving me insane. I just can't believe that I'm going to have a child! Anyone else just keep repeating this to themselves like a madwoman? 😂

This was me during my first pregnancy. I had so much anxiety. Every day leading up to the birth I worried about everything and didn’t relax. The mother feeling hit me much later though (after I gave birth) because I kind of was still in shock that I went through all of that. 
The birth happened and I was expecting to cry and be emotional like most moms but I was just kind of so exhausted and trying to rest that I truly didn’t really soak it all in until much later. I ended up finding out through therapy that I was suffering from postpartum anxiety. Not sure when it started but I remember feeling really overwhelmed at the end even though I didn’t show any signs to family. 
So, go into this experience with an open mind but don’t have expectations for how it’s going to go because sometimes plans change. My advice is to listen to your gut and instinct and trust in the Doctor and you will do great. I had a great birth experience because I had an amazing OB staff to work with but I should have brought up my feelings about anxiety right away so I could have been treated sooner. Surprisingly it is really common but not many mothers discuss it with their providers because they just think it is just your hormones or of whack.
I  didn’t seek therapy until my child was about 6 months. I’m so happy now though and definitely going into this second birth with much more confidence and reassurance. I still have my moments but I’m not super anxious and worried. Wishing you all the best!

When I had my first I don’t think I actually wrapped my head around it until we actually had to bring her home from the hospital and I was like omg I have to actually take care of this thing!!

I could have written that. Lol I feel better now but still can’t believe we are almost there. I was having small panic attacks about packing a hospital bag (still not packed btw). But I’m starting to get the ‘cant wait to see him’ feels too.

Let me tell you, with my first I was the same way. I knew I wanted kids but when the reality hit me that I was actually going to push a tiny baby out of me I was nervous. And no matter how many articles or books I read or talking to other moms and even my mom. You’re not going to be fully prepared or know what to do when your baby is born. Once you hold them in your arms for the first time, you know right then and there you’ll do absolutely anything for them. It’s a very amazing and very nervous feeling at the same time, but trust me it’s definitely worth it.
