Does Ranitidine work on babies?

My 3 month old baby girl has acid reflux/colic pretty bad. Her pedi prescribed her to ranitidine (generic version of Zantac). I haven't picked up the medication because I am very skeptical about giving it to her & making it worse on her tummy. Does any mother have a child that has/had acid reflux & has used ranitidine? If so,  how did it work for your LO (little one)? Thank you moms!!

your pediatrician wouldn't have prescribed it if it was going to make your child more sick. follow the doctor's instructions and call them with any issues or concerns

It’s helped a little. We had to increase the dose once and I’m going to ask to increase it again today.

It’s made a huge difference for my baby (12 weeks). I recently skipped her night and morning dose to see if it was the medicine or change in sleeping/eating position that made the difference, and by mid morning she was spitting up in pain. I felt awful and won’t do that again.

It was a god send for my little boy, took a week and a bit to kick in but worked wonders ❤️❤️

Yes it worked for my daughter. The only issue was it made her skin dry. Dr said she was developing eczema, but as soon as we stopped the meds her skin got better. She slept much better once the reflux  was resolved, and after she started table foods we slowly weaned the medicine.
