How much is a pregnancy in the US?

I just read an article that says the US is the most expensive developed nation in the world to have a baby in. 
I know it depends on insurance coverage but what is the average a person has to pay to have a baby?

My birth was 98,000 dollars, including 2 nights in hospital and baby in nicu for 2 nights. Had to pay about 3000 the rest was covered by insurance.

After insurance, I paid a little over $3,000 for a vaginal delivery with my daughter. That does not include her bills for being in the NICU and special care nursery.

Our healthcare system is so messed up, the variation is incredible. I’m incredibly lucky to have great insurance, so none of my appointments, ultrasounds, or my delivery will cost a cent. Other women will pay thousands of dollars - it’s absolutely insane.

The cost is about 8,000 for a vaginal delivery, and 14,000 for a c-section. With my insurance, I will pay 1500 total for my c-section.

With my first we paid about $2200 with my second we had a much better insurance plan and only paid $250.

First daughter 7 years ago I was on Medicaid and they covered everything. My second my son who is 1 year my insurance covered we are military now so I didn’t have to pay out of pocket and this one will be covered under the same. It’s crazy that people have to pay for delivery while other do not.

My last one cost $2400 but this time my prenatal care is $250 ish rather than the $400 it was last time. Hopefully I won’t be in the hospital as long as I was last time and won’t have the complications I had last time. I’m sure that drove up the price a bit too.

Mine cost $500 for everything. I had great insurance and only paid $300/month. Then they did this "affordable healthcare plan" and my monthly premium went up to $700/month and I don't have as good of insurance, so I will pay thousands this time.

I had my first in April.  Total out of pocket for me (including prenatal care and my post partum visit) was $1200.  Insurance covered everything else (approximately $30k.  I was high risk, got induced, and had a third degree tear).  Baby cost another $500.  He needed nothing extra.  So total cost was about $1700.  My younger brother’s kids were about $7k each.  It really depends on insurance. 
This baby we are putting money into a FSA.  Wish we had done that last year too!!!
