To start or not to start

My husband has been ready for a couple years to start a family but has been waiting for me to be. I told him after the wedding because I knew if we had a baby before then I wouldn't have the wedding I wanted to have because money would have other priorities. The wedding has come and gone (october).

Here's the situation--we are going on a trip to Taiwan next month to visit his family (we live in NY). I have been off BC since September..I told him this month that I didn't want to use condoms anymore and I was ready. However if we start now and got pregnant it would put me at 5 weeks when we go on our trip and 7 on the way back.

Is it silly to start now? Should we hold off one more month? Or just start now and if it's meant to be it's meant to be and just deal with morning sickness if/when I comes even if on the trip (which by the way is 16 hour flight each way)

And yes I know this is completely a personal decision but looking for opinions!

Edit: my husband is 37 and I am 29
