SOME GOOD CONCEIVING ADVICE, ADD YOURS...

Firstly some info on Cervical position and

distinguishing the different types of mucus.

Cervical Position

Low ~ Your cervix will be easy to reach, your finger wont go right in, usually up to the first knuckle.

This means that you are not fertile at this point.

Medium ~ Your cervix will be mid way. Your finger will go in deeper, to around your second knuckle. This means you are in the transition to either be fertile, or you are no longer fertile.

High ~ Your cervix will be hard to reach, some can't reach it at all. You are very fertile at this point. It is high to allow to get in nice and deep to put his deposit right up to the opening of your cervix.

Firm ~ Your cervix will feel like the tip of your

nose. It will be smooth, almost like glass and will

appear to be smaller. This means that you are not fertile at this point.

Medium ~ Your cervix will feel a little spongy. This means you are in the transition to either be fertile, or you are no longer fertile.

Soft ~ Your cervix will feel soft like your lips. It

will be wrinkly and well textured. It will appear to

be larger. You are very fertile at this point.

Closed ~ The dimple will be small and tight, your

cervix will feel flat around the dimple (like the

penis) This means that you are not fertile at this

point.

Open ~ The dimple will feel bigger, as you feel it,

your finger will dip into it. You will feel CM around it easily. You are very fertile at this point.

Cervical Mucous

Internally

Dry ~ It will feel moist inside, but will dry on your

finger quickly. It will dry before doing the stretch

test. You are not fertile at this point.

Sticky ~ It will feel sticky and thick on your finger,

might break up or create a 'roll' when rubbed. It will not stretch, but will form pointy peaks. You are not fertile at this point.

Creamy ~ It will feel like lotion. It is the

transitional stage between fertile and infertile, and so can range between thick and thin i.e. cream to milk. It will not stretch, but form a wavy pattern, very smooth and just giving a clue where it was broken. This means you are in the transition to either be fertile, or you are no longer fertile.

Watery ~ It will feel just like water. Your finger

will slip in easily. When you rub your finger and

thumb, it wont dry quickly, and will massage well. Will not stretch. You are fertile at this point.

Egg White ~ It will feel very slippery inside. It will

massage very well and will not dry at all. It will

stretch well, from just a little to several inches.

Can be mistaken for seman. You are very fertile at this point.

Externally

Dry ~ It will not mark or be found on your underwear. You are not fertile at this point.

Sticky ~ It will create a line on your underwear. It

will feel sticky and thick, and will crumble when

aggitated. It will dry quickly and become hard like cement. You are not fertile at this point.

Creamy ~ It will create a shape ranging from a line to a circle on your underwear. Sometimes, a mixture of both, i.e a thicker line, but an out line of a circle from where it is in the transition. It will remain lotion like as it will not dry very quickly. This means you are in the transition to either be fertile, or you are no longer fertile.

Watery ~ It will create a damp patch on your underwear in a circular pattern, just as if water would mark it. You are fertile at this point.

Egg White ~ It will create a damp, circular pattern on your underwear, and you will possibly find a 'glob' of the classic stretchy EWCM. You are very fertile at this point.

Egg White Verses Seman

It can be difficult to distinguish between the two.

Here is how to tell apart...

1. Egg White will ball up and sink in Water and will remain stretchy when retreived. Seman will float and dissolve.

2. Egg White will stretch repeatedly. Seman may

stretch once or twice, but not for much longer.

3. Egg White is very shiney, and clear or slightly

opaque. Seman is less shiney and creamy.

4. Egg White will stretch to form several thin

strands. Seman will stretch with just one strand.

On gender, having a girl vs. a boy:

Why douche?

Dr Felix Unterburger had made observations with respect to alkalinity and acidity and gender

predetermination. Women recommended to use an alkaline douche (for overcoming fertility problems) conceived a

higher than usual number of boys. Other Doctors followed up on Dr Unterburgers' findings with similar results, an alkaline environment is preferential to male sperm penetration of the ovum and an acidic

environment is preferential to female sperm

penetration of the ovum.

Where Dr Shettles method fails is the pH factor of the reproductive tract and subsequent chemistry around the ovum at the time of ovulation. He states that the reproductive tract is always alkaline at the time of ovulation, and acidic at all other times, which would

result in a much higher % of male births than has been recorded in history. For every 100 females born there are approximately 106 males.

We believe the pH of the cervical mucus, reproductive tract, and follicular fluid must be taken into account and with every month at the time of ovulation, the conditions will be right for either conception of a boy or a girl, not both. It is how Mother Nature has been able to ensure a reasonably equal number of male and female babies are produced each year. Timing your

conception attempt cannot change the acidity or

alkalinity of the follicular fluid within the

reproductive tract (even with orgasm) and so cannot change which sex will be conceived if your ovum is fertilized.

When a woman who is trying to conceive a baby boy and times her conception attempt as close to ovulation as possible, her success will depend upon the pH of the

reproductive tract at the time her ovum is released. If it is alkaline she will be successful, however if it is acidic she will probably conceive a baby girl. If she uses an alkaline douche she is decreasing the possibility of failure, as the alkaline douche is favorable for male producing sperm.

Alternatively when a woman is trying to conceive a baby girl and times her conception attempt several days before ovulation, if the pH of the reproductive tract is acidic at the time of ovulation she will be successful, however if it is alkaline she may conceive a baby boy (that is, if any of the Y bearing sperm are still viable). If she uses an acidic douche she is decreasing the possibility of failure, as the douche will immobilise most of the male producing sperm.

Some of the popular methods used when ttc to conceive

girls

* Shettles: 3-day cut-off before O; after AF, BD

everyday until cut-off; use missionary

position/shallow penetration; no big "O" for woman.

* O+12 method: no ejaculation 7 days before O, then

one BD 12 hours after O.

* O+12 method: http://www.in-gender.com

* An acidic environment favors girl sperm and kills male sperm. Creamy CM favors girl sperm. pH should be below 7.00 (neutral). pH higher than that is alkaline. When trying for a girl, a pH level around 5 or 4 is best. Anything below that will probably kill the sperm. (We're not doctors, all we can give you is our opinions.)

* What foods are acidic? Alkaline? Check out this site for a list of foods in each catagory:

http://www.essense-of-life.com/info/foodchart.htm

Please Note: Eat off the ALKALINE food chart. If you eat off the acidic, it will make your body more alkaline, and if you eat alkaline foods, it will make your body more acidic. Your body tries to compensate to get the right balance.

Tips & Techniques for TTC a Girl

Intercourse

You want to BD frequently from end of AF until OV or until your cutoff, if using one. Recommended cutoffs are from 2-3 days before OV

Missionary w/ shallow penetration is suggested as this position deposits the sperm further from the cervix, thus forcing the sperm to have to travel through the creamy cm, which is more favorable to the girl sperm.

Avoiding the big "O", is also suggested, as it is

thought to produce more alkaline secreations, thus favoring the boy sperm.

CM

When ttc a girl, ideally you want cm that is creamy. No watery and ewcm as this favors the boy sperm.

Other Suggestions

Checking the pH of you cm is vital to understand how girl friendly your cm is. You can purchase litmus paper/pH strips. The best way to test your pH is after checking your cervix position, do a sweep with your finger and then pull out and rub the cm on the pH paper. It will change color immediately indicating your current pH. For ttc a girl, you want a pH between 4 and 5. Anything over 5 is boy favorable and anything lower than 4 is to hostile to all sperm.
