What’s a “long cervix”?

Hi ladies! Has anyone else ever been told they have a long cervix? My OBGYN mentioned I have one at my last Pap smear and said it might make for a long labor. Does it mean anything other than the cervix just being long? What did it entail for you? Did it affect TTC, pregnancy, labor, or healing for you? I’ve done my own research and could only find info on short cervixes. Thanks all! ✌️💖

I have this same thing! Made it SO hard to have my IUD fitted but the hospital got there in the end! My labour was quite difficult with my daughter but I was also induced at 37.5wks too which didn’t help! Ended up with a forceps delivery after 36 hours from induction with a full spinal block. The doctor had to ask for the ‘extra long’ forceps due to my long cervix 🙈😂

it's not something that's measurable during a pap. how bizarre. it's no issue and definitely doesn't have any scientific connection to long labor
