Has anyone been a sahm for two years then needed to put their child in daycare? How did they handle the transition? I have to start school and my son just turned two but he’s having such a hard time transitioning. He cries the entire time at daycare apparently. The ladies say it will just take time but I feel so bad. He has literally been with me 24/7 before now and always hated strangers but we never really focused on it because I thought I had until he was nearly 3. Drop off is terrible of course but I feel like he should be calming down to play at least. If he’s not crying he’s kinda sulking and pouting if that makes sense. Not really interacting with the other kids and laughing and playing. I thought he was doing okay because he calmed down the other day and played, actually fell asleep and all but this week he just is not having it. This is barely his second week though.

He clings to me and starts bawling so I try to do drop off quickly. Otherwise I would love to stay for a while but I feel like it just prolongs it. I can’t let him be distracted and run when he doesn’t see me because frankly that’s mean.

Any advice on how to help him get used to them better?? Do I just tough it out and hope he eventually gets used to them?
