My 4.5 mo LO nurses to sleep at night. He’s usually hungry but tired and sometimes passes out in less than 5 min on me and rarely unlatched on his own. I know he hasn’t eaten enough so I let him stay on and after sometimes 10 min he will ramp up again and start sucking and swallowing. I can’t figure out how long to leave him latched because if I take him out he won’t get the opportunity to feed when he gets this second or third or fourth wind.

Sometimes i have tried juggling or moving my breast or stroking his cheek. Rarely to I try to express because he’s usually so passed out he won’t swallow it or burp well and then I find he spits up easier.

Lately I’ve just been lettting him hangout on me for 20 -30 min hoping that’s enough ??? But he wakes up 2 hours on the spot crying and I’ll feed again and he will nurse back to sleep so now I’m wondering if I’m not letting him eat enough the first time around 😧
