Coffee??

I have not had any caffeine since I found out I'm pregnant. . This morning I'm having a hard time waking up. Would a small cup of coffee harm my baby? :/

Nope it's fine as long as you have less than 200 mg a day! I have 8 oz every morning!

I have an iced coffee everyday and sometimes a little extra. Third pregnancy and drank caffeinated drinks throughout the other two. All healthy babies. Moderation

I had caffeine maybe once a week in my 1st tri and now I have 6 oz of coffee every other day in my 2nd tri. As long as you keep it under 200mg you should have no issues. 200mg is very conservative and based off of the March of dimes reccomendation. The studies done on pregnant women and an increase of miscarriage are with women drinking 8 cups of coffee a day, and there's a lot of debate as to if its even the coffee that increases chances of miscarriage, or lifestyle factors. Think of how sleep deprived you must be if you need 8 coffees a day! So long story short, enjoy your cup of coffee a day, it won't hurt. I also read the print out given to me by my OB and all it says is to limit to 1-2 servings per day.

You can have up to 200 mg a day. How many cups that is depends on the kind of coffee and the size of the cups. I stick to one cup just to be safe.

I stopped in the 1st trimester just because it made me sick. Have had a cup a day since then!
