Ok! I have had it!.... what would you do?

So my husband and i have decided we want a no meds all natural pregnancy and birth... I realize that complications happen and if it's medically necessary we will do what's right for our baby.... HOWEVER....i would like to avoid all pharmaceuticals all together if I can... including an epidural!....... sounds great right!... our doctors support us 100%, our parents support us 100%.... our friends on the other hand do not... They say things like you will never last without and epidural... you seriously need to reconsider the epidural.... ill give you a few hours of hard labor before you start screeming for it.....yada yada yada....  why is it so hard for our generation to give birth naturally... we have been doing it for thousands of years!!! why all of the sudden are we expected to use pharmicudicals injected into our spine in order to have a baby.... I'm not a freaking bull dog... I can give birth naturally if I want to damnit!

😂😂😂 people love to hate. I was a single mom in 2013 I planned to have a complete natural pregnancy and birth unless medically necessary for the health and well being of myself and my baby. I was 23 and the laughing Stock of our small town! They all including my mother who is normally very supportive that there is NO WAY I could go through labor without an epidural! Well..... I decided to invite my haters to a live show and boy did I show them, several women including my mom who told me I couldn’t do it got to sit through a 15 hour active all natural labor and observe me KICK ASS!! ( excuse the language) lol! Flash forward to my wedding 4 years later to the man of my dreams you can guess what the maid of honor speech was about..... how I’m a tough cookie who my new husband shouldn’t make mad because I have babies without drugs! That’s literally how the whole town knows me now 😂🤷🏼‍♀️ moral of the story ..... smile and nod then when the time comes SHOW EM!

Who cares. Just do it how you want to. If anything it should light a fire to prove them wrong. 
I don’t get why this always turns into a damn debate. It’s not about if women can handle it or not. Obviously if a women in labor for some reason can’t get an epidural because they waited too long or the anesthesia doctor is busy even though she wants one (me) they still have no choice about giving birth. It’s not like she can just decide not to do it because there’s no pain control. It about how they WANT to do it. Some people want the natural birth experience, and some people want the pain free relaxed birth experience. I’m so sick of moms shaming each other.

After the baby is out I feel like this debate becomes so unimportant. I’ve got friends who gave birth with epidurals and said it was amazing, moms who had c sections and were upset about it, moms who loved the c section, and women who swear by unmedicated (I hate the term “natural” since everyone I know has had professionals present with modern tools). We all share our stories briefly and then get on to more interesting topics. 
Fwiw I had an unmedicated water birth and it was amazing. I’m definitely doing it again with baby two. I never once was scared or felt I needed medication

hey, I gave birth naturally at 17. I've always been a bit of a jungle kid so I don't do chemical prescription whatsoever. it's not as bad as it seems. all I had was the pitocin to induce contractions since baby girl would not budge and was a month overdue. it was the minimalistic option they gave me. if not they'd probably have done a c section. but trust your body you'll be alright. and breathing, controlled breathing goes a long ways with the contractions. blessings your way mamá 💖

I had two natural births, I didn’t want an epidural from the very start, never ever considered it, didn’t even cross my mind at all during either labours to have one.
You can do it, and you will do it if that’s what you want. Don’t listen to anyone else 🙄 everyone has a different pain threshold, everyone has a different mentality and all labours are different. 
Just brush their negative comments off 🤷🏻‍♀️💪🏼

it wouldnt let me type anymore. but I'm not done... If anyone who reads this is having any of this procedures done... please don't take offense... I don't mean for them to come across as bad, I just personally choose not to go that rout.. would never judge you on your decision and I commend you all for being the best parents you can be... I just feel frustrated that my friends don't support my choices...

I had planned for it and the pain was so intense that my amity took over and I couldn't breathe causing baby to go in distress it was a horrible first experiance so this time around I'm totally doing an epidural but power to whoever does it without it.
