Mute Feature

Hey all,

I'm talking to our developers about improving muting/blocking, and there's some debate over whether or not a certain facet of muting is working or not. (I was originally going to post this in Tech Support, but figured CC was the place to go for people who have used it :-D).

The question is: if you mute a user, do you hear from them again? Do you receive notifications that they've commented on your posts? Do receive notifications that they've @replied you? ( These are actually two different notification systems, so let me know if you've gotten one but not the other). 

Or, alternatively, how is it that you know (because I know you do) that a muted user is commenting on your post?
