Guy paying on dates?

How do you ladies feel about guys having to pay on dates? Would it bother you if a guy doesn't pay on the first date?

I believe it should be equal

If a guy asks you out he should want to pay. If you ask a guy out you should want to pay. It's just manners. 
I'm not saying they have to, but why would you ask someone "on a date" without taking responsibility for that date?

I suppose if the guy was to ask me out he is technically supposed to pay for the food. Because he is the one taking me out.

Yup it means he isn’t a gentleman, unless he is poor or has a legit excuse
