how do you know if you have a yeast infection or a uti?

literally the easiest way ive been able to tell the difference was one question a planned parenthood doctor asked me a while back...when you pee does it hurt on the inside or the outside? with a uti you will feel pressure and pain inside your body and a yeast infection it will be outside after the pee youches your skin. idk if that helps for other people too but thats made a huge difference for me to tell.

With a UTI, you’ll feel like you have to pee very frequently and when you do pee, it will burn really bad. You might also feel pressure/cramping in your lower pelvic area. With a yeast infection, your vagina (like the actual hole & inside) will itch really bad and it can also itch around your labia and even back into your butt crack. If you suspect you have either one, the best thing to do is make an appt with your doctor or planned parenthood and confirm. Both UTIs and yeast infections are pretty easily taken care of, a yeast infection will just get super crazy itchy if you don’t get it taken care of, but a UTI can turn into a nasty bladder or kidney infection, so very important to go see your doctor and see what’s up. All you have to do is pee in a cup and they can test if it’s a UTI.

I don’t know the exact difference but here is what I can tell you . UTIS .. you’ll feel the urge to pee very few minutes . In the morning when you wake up or whenever you use the bathroom and it has a very strong smell usually means a UTI is coming . Anyways , your bladder will feel as if you were holding in your pee all day and you need to go which causes pain in the lower abdomen. You will also burn when you go to the bathroom, after you pee a strong burning sensation will come. When I Have a UTI I normally pee and only 2/3 drops come out. Go see a doctor if you have this or ever get this . A UTI untreated can lead to a kidney infection which is 100 times worse then a UTI. You need antibiotics to cure a UTI do not let it go away on its own and , if you can’t go right away take AZO pills to help the pain. They are not a cure for the infection but can help with symptoms. Can be found at a drug store . Now I’ve never had a yeast infection so all I know about those is that your V is extremely itchy and you have a ton of discharge and the smell down there isn’t the best.
