Elree for a girl?

My SO really wants us to name her this.. He's not interested in any variations of it but we can play around with spelling.
 Any advice or thoughts? Idk how to feel about it but I want him happy with the name.

Where are you from? This is a common Afrikaans name in South Africa but spelled Elri and 1 variation I've heard is Eldri. That said, your baby needs a name people in your country can pronounce or she will end up always correcting people. As you can see reactions differ depending on where people are from. I'd like to give my child an English name but it would not fit with our surname  which is very Afrikaans and people will never know how to pronounce it correctly.... LOL!

I’m not sure how I feel about the name... what about doing something like Ellie? If you are set on the name you could also do Elrie or you could nickname her Ree-Ree
