Lunch meat?

Really craving ham sandwich and wondering if I can have lunch meat? Someone told me no but they have never been pregnant?!

I was told that there's a higher chance of getting listeria when eating raw lunch meat . But listeria isn't common.  And you can always steam the meat or poor out in the microwave.  I have eaten subway quite a bit without it being cooked.  I crave subway

Just microwave it till its hot first, then it should be fine :) you just need to kill any possible listeria.

Eating lunch meat puts you at risk for listeria.   Listeria can cause stillbirth, so I'm avoiding it like the plague.

I asked my doctor about it, and he said that it's fine if you consider the source. Restaurants like subway or the like are safe because they have health codes they need to abide by. Listeria is a threat to all people, it's just more concerning in pregnant women.

Lunch meat has a high chance of having listeria, but really you should avoid processed foods as much as possible. It's super hard for me because my SO can make an AWESOME sandwich and it just sounds so good

Lunch meat isn't raw and it's usually vacuum sealed so should be fine. I was told to only steer clear of cured deli meats like salami

I've heard you can heat the lunch meat and then put it in the fridge so you can still eat it cold.

My doctor said I shouldn't eat it but I had a craving for roast beef the other day & ate it anyways. I also used to eat subs with my last pregnancy. I guess if you don't overdue it you should be fine. My daughter is healthy
