Cord blood registry?

Hey everyone! This is my first baby, and I'm on the fence about whether or not to store his/her cord blood. Any experience or info is greatly appreciated!

I plan to donate - it is free and both sides of our family do not have any serious medical issues.  I also believe it is good karma for the future!

Delayed cord clamping is probably your more beneficial route. Most doctors are open to it, others push back a little. But it's your baby. Do what you feel is best!

I think we will save ours when the time comes. I know storage is not cheap but after hearing what can be done with it if a need arises, it's an expense we plan to take on. Plus, as science continues to advance, I can't even imagine what dieseses can be cured with it. Hopefully it will never be an issue but just in case, we feel better about being prepared.

I thought if you bank cord blood it only means there is cord blood available to you if you need it, but NOT necessarily your baby's.

We will definitely be saving our baby's cord blood.  It IS expensive, but you can't put a price on the things it can do.  It was a no brainer for us.

I am so unsure if we should bank or donate or do delayed cord clamping. My husband and I are from different backgrounds and he had a brother who died of leukemia... it is even harder to find matches for mixed kids. So we are thinking to bank cord blood but not sure right now.
