Bottle warmer?

I’m a FTM planning to breastfeed my little one due 2/18. Do I need a bottle warmer for  the milk that I pump? Also any advice or tips you ladies have for me in regards to breastfeeding would be greatly appreciated!

I have gone 8 months without one. What I do is take a bowl with water, heat it up 2 minutes and then place the bottle in it for 5 minutes. I would check your wattage on your microwave though if you plan to do this because 2 minutes could be too hot. But, if you can afford a bottle warmer and feel like it would make your life easier then get it. I feel like it’s one of those unnecessary things like a wipe warmer.

You can definitely use a bottle warmer (quicker). Or you can run it under warm tap water. My LO will drink it right out of the refrigerator, so we returned the bottle warmer. Never got used!

I breastfed for a year but would often give baby bottles of expressed milk at night feedings. Hubby and I found the bottle warmer to be a lifesaver. Baby would wake up crying and we could just pop bottle in warmer for 2-3 min. So easy and appreciated when you’re half awake in middle of night with a screaming baby!

If you are going to feed it to them within 4 hours ( give or take depending on ambient temperature) you don't need to cool it at all and eliminate the need for warming it. My baby will drink baby temp, room temp or refrigerated milk or formula. So bobbers to have a warmer at all for us.

I’m breastfeeding baby #4 and have never had or used one. It might be nice if you are doing bottles all the time. But it’s far from a necessity. I just did what others have mentioned and heated water in the microwave to put it in. Only takes 5-7 minutes usually.

I would take breast milk out of the fridge or feeezer and put the bag in a hot bowl of water from the tap while I was breastfeeding. After he was done nursing, I would hand him off to dad for the bottle while I pumped.
