3rd IUD attempt on 2/23

I’m extremely nervous after two failed attempts because my cervix is too tight and they couldn’t get the sound device in to even measure my uterus(second time went in with prescribed Xanax and on my period).

I saw an actual GYN yesterday and we decided to go with the Kyleena after discussing the variety of birth control methods and he prescribed 2 200mg Misoprostol (my doctor wanted to do the same thing, it’s the pill you take with another to induce abortion, I’ll take it two hours before my appointment) to help soften and dilate my cervix do we can hopefully get it done this time.

I’m just scared now because I was stupid and googled it and apparently it’s not suggested to use and it’s not proven to help. I might ask for numbing shots too just in case..

Has anyone else been prescribed this to help with iud insertion?

Please no horror stories, I’m already nervous.

I have my reasons why I’m going the iud, if I could do another, I would.

If it doesnt work, I’ll just try a different pill type and stick to condoms too.
